 A new study from the National Institute of Health and published in JAMA Internal Medicine estimates that 110,000 deaths per year could be prevented in people over 40 years old with just 10 minutes of physical activity per day.

Journal of the American Medical Association Recommends Spinal Manipulation

The July patient information issue from the Journal of the American Medical Association concerning low back pain recommends spinal manipulation (adjustments) and other non drug treatments before medications for both acute short term and chronic ( more than 12 weeks) low back pain. Chiropractors are the only healthcare profession with extensive training in spinal manipulation.

Epidural steroid Injections give no benefit passed two weeks

 Please note that the FDA has not approved injectable corticosteroids for use through spinal injection (commonly called epidural steroid injection), but they continue to be used off label. A review by the prestigious Cochrane Collaboration concluded that they are mildly effective in the short term with no advantage passed two week.

 This recent study evaluated how access to chiropractic care effected the medical costs of older Americans. It looked at 86,000 Medicare records over four years of people with spinal pain. The authors found patients who moved from an area with many chiropractors to an area with fewer chiropractors, back pain costs jumped as much as $513!
